Know-how
The right shoes
During a mountainous tour, you should wear shoes with stiffer soles. Blisters can be prevented with well-fitting socks.
Drinks and snacks for the road
On a hike, it is better to carry too much liquid than too little. Food should be varied and contain slow-release carbs.
Appropriate mountain gear
Prepare for all weather conditions by layering i.e. follow the onion principle, so you can adjust your temperature.
The rucksack and its content
For short trips, you only need a 25 L rucksack. For longer tours, you need one that is bigger and more sophisticated.
Sunscreen, hiking poles, etc.
Sun cream, sunglasses, and headgear are essentials on any tour. It’s a good idea to have hiking poles.
